陈翰笙（1897~2004），中国早期马克思主义的农村经济学家、社会学家、历史学家、社会活动家，中国社会科学院世界历史研究所名誉所长。20世纪 30年代中国农村经济研究会的创始人。他坚持以马克思主义立场、观点、方法，分析研究中国农业、农民和农村问题，以第一手的农村调查材料论证中国农村半封建、半殖民地的社会性质，指明中国农业发展的道路。2004年3月13日逝世。
